Marnus Labuschagne Left Out from Australia's One-Day International Team Versus Team India

Labuschagne finds himself omitted from Australia's three-game ODI series versus India, as high-performing Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw getting a unexpected selection.

Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion

Labuschagne has been omitted from the one-day international side after being dismissed for one in both of his innings during the recent series against South Africa in August. He has a best innings of forty-seven in his most recent ten ODI batting appearances.

The 31-year-old has played 68 ODIs and amassed 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64, but will now work towards a Test recall in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.

Renshaw's Return and Team Updates

Recent performances suggest of a return to form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw also hit a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.

Renshaw could to make his ODI debut in the upcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.

Australia have announced a squad for only the initial two T20 matches against India with the Ashes on the horizon, although Glenn Maxwell will be absent for the five-game T20 series due to a wrist problem suffered in New Zealand.

Mitch Marsh will skipper both the ODI and T20 sides after scoring a hundred in the final game against New Zealand to clinch a 2-0 series win last week.

“Selectors have announced a squad for the ODI series and initial two matches of the T20 series as there will be player management through the back end of the series as players get ready for the cricket season through domestic first-class matches,” Australia chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an crucial phase in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously prepare specific players for the Test matches ahead.”

Australia’s three-game ODI series against India commences on 19 October in Perth, before the opponents play five T20s from October 29.
