Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
